Asian Heritage Month celebrates our rich history as Builders and Contributors to Canada. During the month of May we will feature community events. This showcase of history and talent is more important than ever considering the difficult year due to the pandemic, and racism and escalating attacks against Asian Canadians. The community collaboration this year is stronger than ever.
Join us at our virtual event, hosted by Paul Haavardsrud and Serena Mah, to officially kick off the month with this celebration on May 1st!

Join us for engaging panel discussions on topics including:
- Why Asian Heritage Month is more important than ever in 2021
- The “Bamboo Ceiling”
- Looking to the Future – Youth perspectives on anti-racism
We’ll also be featuring Chinese Martial arts, a film called Dragonmasters, highlights of community initiatives, calligraphy and more!

Paul started his career in print with Dow Jones, before moving to the Financial Post, and the Calgary Herald. He took to the airwaves with CBC Radio in 2010. He has ghost written two Canadian non-fiction best sellers covering two of his favourite topics, economics and sports. At this exact moment, he’s conflicted about (maybe) hoping for the Toronto Raptors to miss the playoffs to get a higher draft pick.
