Dancing with Active Older Adults

Join Kyrsten Blair in this beginner-friendly, open level, fun-loving, light-hearted approach, with modifications to suit all levels and abilities. Technical, expressive and creative movement studies influence the class experience. Kyrsten’s classes welcome newcomers, emerging artists, late bloomers and seasonal professionals.

You will learn a variety of dance styles while grooving to the best music has to offer. No previous dance experience is necessary to sign up.

Biography of Kyrsten Blair:

Kyrsten is a prominent member of Calgary’s Arts community – University Sessional, performer, movement educator, coach, choreographer, staging director, designer, producer, coordinator, and the yoga teacher for Cambrian Heights Community Association. Having trained and performed across Canada, the USA, Cuba, and Indonesia, movement traditions rooted in Contemporary, Jazz, Improvisation, Body Percussion, Traditional & Folkloric, Ballet, Dance Theatre and Musical Theatre are some of her constant companions. Recent presenters of her work include the Canadian Indonesian Social Club, Fire Exit Theatre, Calgary Opera, One Yellow Rabbit’s High Performance Rodeo, Decidedly Jazz Danceworks and the DJD Dance Centre’s Creative Residency Program, The School of Creative and Performing Arts and the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary, Calgary Girls Choir, Revv52, and schools across southern Alberta.
