This is a new collaborative program amongst Calgary’s key Asian Canadian community organizations and it is to bring together national and international renowned performing artists for the “ImaginAsian – Treasures of Asia & Canada ” event as a major collaborative program of 2026 & 2027 Asian Heritage Month. The events will offer Southern Alberta a first of its kind cultural experience showcasing prominent performing artist of Asian descent.
The event will be a platform for underrepresented voices through providing visibility to Asian artists who are often underrepresented in mainstream Canadian arts, which encourages collaboration between artists of different heritages (South Asian, East Asian, Southeast Asian, Central Asian, Pacific Islander etc) generating cross-cultural creativity, sparking new hybrid art forms. Ultimately, the performance program becomes a catalyst for human connection and community resilience, demonstrating how arts-led gatherings can meaningfully advance the vision of a strong, vibrant, and inclusive nation.
