What began as a one-day festival to share their love of Japanese Animation (anime) became Calgary’s premier weekend celebration of Japanese art and pop culture two and a half decades later. Otafest is a Japanese pop-culture event that focuses on Japanese animation (anime) and comics (manga) as well as Japanese pop (J-pop).
